Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct, Release of Information and Declaration of Intent:
If accepted as a DWCC Volunteer, I agree that:
1. I shall hold all confidential information that I may obtain directly or indirectly regarding staff, visitors, volunteers, and students, and not seek confidential information from any individual.
2. I will complete an extended criminal record check, which includes vulnerable sector screening and a check for pardoned sexual offenses. (Do not complete until an interview with the Volunteer Developer has taken place).
3. I will report to my volunteer shift in uniform (if required) and follow the dress code with my DWCC ID clearly visible.
4. My services are donated to the DWCC without expectation of compensation or future employment.
5. I shall honour the duties and time commitment of the service assigned to, and advise the Volunteer Developer of any planned absences and/or emergency absences.
6. I will complete any/all orientation and training materials/sessions that are related to my Volunteer Service Placement.
7. I understand that the DWCC Volunteer Developer reserves the right to terminate my volunteer status at any time due to:
a. Failure to comply with DWCC policies, rules and regulations
b. Problematic attendance
c. Negative and/or inappropriate comments or conduct
d. Any other circumstance which, in the judgment of the DWCC Volunteer Developer and DWCC Staff makes my continued service as a Volunteer contrary to the best interests of DWCC.
8. I understand that it is my responsibility to read and abide by the policies, procedures, and rules as stated in the Volunteer Orientation Materials, including but not limited to conduct and ethical guidelines, dress code, and safety. I will consult with the Volunteer Developer regarding any orientation topic that I do not understand. In the event the material is revised and/or otherwise updated, I will be informed and expected to abide by the most current instructions.
Release of Information and Declaration of Intent
I hereby give the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative (DWCC) consent to verify the information provided by me in this Volunteer/COOP/Student Application. I give consent for the DWCC to contact the references and current and/or former employers listed, and to obtain and verify any information from them (and any other persons that the organization determines might be able to provide relevant information) that may be relevant to my application.
I grant my permission for Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative (DWCC) to perform a police records check on me, and I will sign and return the “Release of Information and Declaration of Intent” for such purpose.
I further grant the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative permission to perform an internet search on me and to review and consider any information found by me on the internet.
I understand that if the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative approves my application, and determines within the probationary period of 90 days that I am not suitable for a position in the organization or for the position for which I am applying, the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative may terminate my employment for any reason without advance notice.
If the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative approves my application for a position, I will sign any documents that the organization requires and will at all times cooperate fully with the vision and mission of the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative in the fulfillment of my duties and will keep all confidential information I encounter in my role as confidential.
If at any time I determine that, for any reason, I am unable to support or adhere to or follow the policies, procedures or doctrine of Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative, I will inform the organization and will resign from my position.
I hereby acknowledge that, to the best of my knowledge, the information contained in this Volunteer/COOP/Student Application Form is true and correct.
